It is very important to do a research before choosing the company for alloy wheels powder coating and to check what kind of service will be provided for the price you are paying.
Only the proper preparation of the wheel: sandblasting, removing existing paint and primer,
taking off curb damage, scratches, corrosion, and all other cosmetic imperfections – will give high quality long lasting powder coated surface. That takes more than half of the time and the cost of the powder coating process.
Often, we see the wheels that were powder coated not so long ago, but the powder on them is already chipping, peeling and flaking off. The reason for it is that the wheels were not sandblasted and the preparation was not done properly or was not done at all. Most of the time, the rims are coated on top of the existing paint. After 6 months of use, one year maximum, the rims start to look awful (especially black powder coating on top of the silver rim).
Please take a look at those wheels that were recently powder coated by a different company.
This fast and cheap way of powder coating is a good option only if you plan to sell wheels or a car and need them to look good. Whereas if you are planning to keep your wheels and use them, you will probably be disappointed very soon.
Our company gives 1 year warranty for powder coating surface, but in reality the wheels we coat last 5 to 10 years with no issues.
