We explain the benefits of having powder coating rims instead of painted rims and how we get our powder coating wheels done
If you are interested in rim restoration, customizing your vehicle or upgrading your wheel coating, alloy wheel powder coating is an affordable way to enhance your car’s overall appearance, increase its value and improve your vehicular safety. Powder coating is an advanced new method of applying decorative and protective finish to any metal surface including alloy wheels. Once a layer of color powder is sprayed onto the sandblasting alloy wheels with electrostatic gun, they are heat-treated to create durable, visually appealing surface. The maximum temperature for baking is under 150 C (300 F), so the integrity of the wheels will not be affected. We also give you one-year warranty on the coating.
There are certainly benefits and perks to powder coated rims. Powder coating aluminum rims offers greater rim protection than traditional rims paint. Coated rims have a higher level of resistance to everyday wear and tear; thus, decreasing incidents of chipping, scratching and fading. This makes powder coating aluminum wheels less susceptible to damages including weld wheels. With powder coating cost almost the same as conventional paint, it has become a more favorable option for wheel refinishing because our customers recognize the quality in a more refined finish. It is also an eco-friendly method of car rim refinishing. The powder does not contain any harmful chemicals and it is not hazardous.
We provide exceptional alloy wheel powder coating service; however, there are some limitations. We cannot apply powder on rubber or plastic products as the powder coating technique requires heat application and the heat will melt the rubber. We have some selection of colors available right away, but cannot mix and match the colors. As an option, you can order an unlimited number of colors directly from the powder manufacture, and we will apply it. The diamond cut rims can be powder coated but the color of powder will not look as shiny as the original cutting. If you would like the shiny alloy finish, we can diamond cut the rims on our CNC machine – please check link above for details. Also chrome wheels cannot be coated but we have an alternative option of chrome powder coat.
If you’re not sure if your car rims can be powder coated, we can complete a thorough assessment and determine what the best option is for you. Our powder coating prices include sandblasting wheels with all cosmetic imperfections, curb rash, scratches, rust, etc. removed before powder coating.
